Educational Programs and Antiquities

Our Ephorate, in cooperation with the 1st Regional Center for Educational Planning of Central Macedonia, undertook the planning and organization of an Information Conference entitled “Educational Programs and Antiquities” as part of the communication policy and information measures for the educational community of Chalkidiki. The Conference was held at the Archaeological Museum of Polygyros on September 10, 2019 and aimed to provide primary school teachers with extensive information on the educational programs and actions of the Service, and archaeological sites and monuments whose restoration work has been completed and are accessible to the public. Moreover, experiential workshops were conducted on a variety of topics such as: culture and sustainability, the school-museum interaction, organizing a visit to an archaeological site.

In addition, the participating teachers from Chalkidiki, through the antiquities and educational activities presented by the ‘invited’ prefecture of Florina, had the opportunity to get to know, organize and include archaeological sites and museums in more remote areas when planning their daily field trips and establish a framework for regular cooperation and information.
