Archaeological Film Courses (master class)
The word Master class could be rendered as “workshop” or “tutorial” in Greek. It is usually an educational session given by an expert or artist to a group of people with certain knowledge on a field who are interested in gaining special insight, by breaking away from the traditional lecture and focusing on dialogue.
This experience was an idea put forward by our Service for the public of Polygyros, with the confidence that a cultural event can have a long-lasting impact through investment in knowledge.
Thus, in addition to the 2nd “Archaeological Film festival of Chalkidiki”, Master classes were organized for an audience with particular interest in archaeology, where makers of archaeological films presented their work live. 15 participants from the field of education and the arts took part, following a declaration of interest. The following courses were taught in two training sessions with parallel screenings of film clips and educational material:
- “Introduction to archaeological film”, a & b

- “Production of archaeological films for television”

- “Animation and the Cinematic Narrative”
Zachos Samoladas, Visual artist, film-TV Director (Director at TV100 Municipal Television of Thessaloniki).
