The Ephorate of Antiquities of Chalcidice and Mount Athos announces the temporary suspension of the operation of the archaeological site of Olynthos, from Monday 17.03.2025 until Tuesday 15.07.2025, in order to protect the visitors, due to the landscaping works that are being carried out in the archaeological site, within the framework of the TAA project “Impovement of spaces and infrastructure for hosting cultural events in archaeological sites and museums of the Ephorate of Antiquities of Chalcidice and Mount Athos”.

However, the visitors can have free access into the Ancient Olynthos Digital Information Center with interactive applications, presenting the history of the city and all the various interesting aspects of its life revealed by exploration of the site and the roughly 15.000 portable finds brought to light. With the digital timeline and the interactive ground plan the history of Olynthos comes to life in pictures; the Digital Display Case and Exploration History applications present the history of the city from its initial discovery to the most recent explorations. Furthermore, short videos spotlight all the turning points in the life of the city.
